Emirati multidisciplinary visual artist Shaikha Alketbi works across photography, video, drawing and installation. Her practice explores self-identity, liminality and the shifting boundary between reality and imagination, often informed by dream-like narratives and performative responses to landscapes. A graduate of Zayed University and part of the Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship between 2016 and 2017, her work has since been exhibited regionally and internationally, and forms part of major collections including the Dubai Collection. In addition to her artistic practice, she is also Creative Director at the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation.
Shaikha Alketbi participated in Proximities exhibition in Seoul, presented by Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation and Seoul Museum of Art as part of Abu Dhabi Festival Abroad. Her work was showcased alongside leading Emirati artists as part of the exhibition and wider cultural diplomacy initiative.
