With a focus on authentic representations of Arab and Muslim women in contemporary performance, Alnowais blends classical theatre with personal narrative, exploring themes of identity, belonging and cultural displacement.
Alnowais was the winner of the Gulf Capital – ADMAF Creativity Award 2025, presented by Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation in recognition of excellence in the performing arts and support for emerging creatives. Her award-winning play Shaghaf explores identity, freedom and belonging through the story of an Arab Muslim actress navigating rejection and self-doubt, combining Shakespearean text with personal storytelling to reflect on cultural challenges within the performing arts.
