
Based in Sharjah, Almatrooshi explores food politics, mythology, storytelling and power structures through performance, ceramics, video and culinary processes. She holds an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, and her work has been shown at the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Lahore Biennale and NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery and Art Dubai.
Almatrooshi participated in the Guest Artists Takeover residency at UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, delivering workshops and live creative sessions through Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation’s (ADMAF) Art @ Embassies initiative. She also took part in Proximities at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), as part of Abu Dhabi Festival Abroad. Her work has been featured in ADMAF-supported exhibitions such as Perceptible Rhythms / Alternative Temporalities at The Middle East Institute Art Gallery in Washington, D.C.
