
An Emirati singer, songwriter, and founder of the soul band ABRI, Hamdan Al Abri is widely recognised as one of the pioneers of the UAE’s contemporary and independent music scene. He helped establish original English language music in the UAE through acclaimed albums including Sunchild and Blank Notes. His work blends soul, R&B, funk and jazz with regional influences, and he has performed internationally and alongside major artists including Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Ziggy Marley, Sting and Sade.
Hamdan Al Abri’s relationship with Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) includes his performance at Abu Dhabi Festival in 2014, where he collaborated live on stage with jazz legend Herbie Hancock. He also participated in ADMAF education initiatives, including Space Sessions: Capital Vibes, engaging youth and emerging musicians across the UAE.
