Working across film and television projects, Alshehhi explores personal narratives through intimate, character-driven storytelling. She earned an MFA in Writing & Directing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she developed a cinematic approach grounded in emotional depth and visual expression.
Her award-winning short film A Small Dream (2022), exploring women’s freedom and societal barriers, won the Gulf Capital – ADMAF Visual Arts Award 2023.
Alshehhi has also participated in international cultural programmes and residencies linked to Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation’s (ADMAF) initiatives, including a filmmaking residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris as part of ADMAF’s Young Filmmakers’ Circle initiative in partnership with Institut français des Emirats arabes unis. Her wider body of work includes Open Wound (2015) and Burning Colors (2016), with screenings at international festivals and cultural platforms.
